Why didn't India rebel during WW1 or WW2?
Several reasons why India didn't rebel during WW1 or WW2 include: 1) The British were adept at arresting agitators who wanted independence through violence. 2) Many in India didn't feel represented by the independence movements. 3) Britain won the allegiance of many Indian elites by promising Dominion status to India. 4) The British had already arrested anyone who may have thought armed rebellion was a good idea. 5) Many Indian leaders actively pushed for nonviolent resistance.
