Why You Don't Care About Inequality
People don't care about inequality due to two main reasons: unawareness of the scope of inequality and the belief that economic success reflects hard work and effort. The social and economic borders separating the rich and poor distort our worldview, leading us to underestimate the size of the gap that separates us. To care more about inequality, we need to cross these borders and develop a better understanding of the world we live in.
